(quote) "the country has already has many plans in the future", "it is the people here who doesnt want to work the low level jobs, hence the foreigners".
many questions surfaced during my trip here. Not that these questions weren't asked before but it seems that they are getting more and more significant as time goes by.
first of all, dont get me wrong. im part of this country, and i want the country to do well. im proud that we are recognised throughout the world. but, are we progressing too quick that our own people cannot keep up?
our country has plans. but does the plan include us? or the plans would be just for us to accept whatever they give us and live with it. Yes, we dont want low level jobs. WHY? culture played a part, we from young have always look down on cleaners, sweepers, construction workers etc. Who, from the younger generation wants to be looked down and do the jobs? Pride.
Question is. Are there enough mid level jobs to satisfy the growing nation?
took the train around today, what i see today, on and off the train, is that, to do ok in this country, you need to be tip top, education is very important and not everyone can get the right education nor afford them, given the situation in university studies at the moment. the average person is going to do it tough. Makes me realise that I'm fortunate enough to have a good family base and the opportunities to explore further. Not everyone is able to do that. and there will be lesser in the future given the savings style nowadays.
i seriously hope that things won't turn out as bad as i thought in the future. we are looking very good on the outside. breathtaking if you check on the f1 later this year. But we need to take care of the people living in the country. our kids. our future. at the moment, i don't think there's a lot of emphasis on it. I hope are we are going the right way, to shorten the distance between the rich and the poor.
