Hole-In-One

crazy hole-in-one shot @ the Canadian Open. Amazed by how the ball spun back, hit the other golf ball on the green, and went in the right direction towards the hole.

how amazing "nature" is. Enjoy the clip.

Lost

ever felt lost feeling when..
your mobile battery is is nearly flat..or
your petrol tank is near to empty?

when you think twice about making the extra phonecall or going for that extra mile.

is a good feeling when you can be in control of things.
Always be charged up or filled up to be prepared for the next challenge.

Traffic Management on Sydney Harbour Bridge

Even though traffic on the famous Sydney Habour Bridge is always stuffed up during peak hours, I must say the traffic management is pretty good, considering the huge volumes of vehicles using the bridge every day.

I drive past the bridge everyday, often wondering why is there a traffic jam, cursing the driver in front of you for poor driving. For people who hasn't got a clue, majority of the traffic congestions are due to merging lanes and drivers not following the simple "merging" rule which is left right left right, one at each time. But humans being humans, everyone of us wants to go first in the queue, causing delays.

Sydney Harbour Bridge is the widest bridge in the world, consisting of 7 vehicles lanes, 1 bus only lane, 2 tracklines, 1 bicycle path and 1 footpath. Maintaining and managing the traffic on the bridge is not a easy job and I've been to the traffic management control centre to witness the process. Credit to the drivers (except for a few law-breakers), they keep to the lane allocated during peak hours, not crossing over to empty lanes as signalised on the bridge to speed up the process of ensuring traffic flows smoothly on the bridge.

Sydney Harbour Bridge will always remain an icon, together with the Sydney Opera House. The Sydney Habour Tunnel is another great project, taking a huge proportion of traffic from the Bridge, decreasing the delays and congestion for northbound and southbound vehicles.

Except for the traffic jams, I still enjoy driving over the Harbour Bridge everyday.

It is indeed a great civil engineering 'creation'.

2 times

2 times in a space of 4 days. Both encounters with petty human beings.
Wrong action @ the wrong time. Disappointed with myself.
when will I be triggered?
Nice Girls Don't Get Rich.
How about "Nice Guys Gets Taken Advantage Of"
Time to learn to be more straight-forward. or rather, learn to toughen up my conversing skills.
Very disappointed, those are the 1st things that came to my mind in the morning for a couple of days.
Good thing is, I'm still alive and having a job.
Not getting any younger. Hard to survive out there with all the sword-mouths. Have to get in control of my life and not letting others control me.
There's always a better way of doing things. Use your brain and think.

Dear Diary

had a roller coaster week.
Joshua was here on Monday after his soccer tournament held in University of Sydney. Good to catch up with a friend and had a few challenges with Wii Sports.

Merrylands Paramics modelling were completed. What's left is the documentation. Finally, I'm able to take a breather from looking at the models and hearing the laptop cooling fan "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when running the models. At least for now.

Bobby came over from Newcastle and stayed over @ my place on Wednesday, to pick up Maggie, who is coming back from her "half-round the world" trip. Watch State-Of-Origin with a simple home-cooked meal consisting of panang chicken curry and nasi lemak. Thanks Denise for cooking. State-of-Origin was fantastic with NSW winning the last game with a few brawls and exciting moments. Dinner was japanese buffet @ Kansai. tempura prawns, teriyaki chicken, katsu, salmon green tea soba, sashimi salad, gyoza and the list goes on and on and on.......
Spend tonight watching NRL and cooking zajiang mian @ home. Weekend will be shopping for furniture for Letty and badminton. All in all, it has been a good week except for the parking incident at work with some petty staff.

Thanks bobby and maggie for the "mua ji". Please don't be so "ke qi" with me next time. I'm more than happy to meet up with you guys. Move to Sydney soon!!
Oh yahz, and we won powerball. 5th division prize. I've got 4 out of 5 numbers. 1 more number and I will be $60,000 richer. 4 out of 5 got us only $50, not complaining though. At least we din lose money.

everything happens for a reason, I've learnt that experience once again.

things are better left undone.
things that should we should not put too much effort into.
life. brings you up and down. left to right. you can be as prepared but you never know what and who is going to hit you.
we learnt, but for how long.

MJ

Resisted but just couldn't get MJ out of my head at the moment after watching his past concert performances and memorial service. Hence, this entry

I'm not a die hard fan of him but you will never get enough of him. Great entertainer, comfortable on the stage, love his dance moves. He literally owned everything on stage.

Kinda of sad realising he's gone for good. But at least he's being recognise for the right reasons. (A part of me still does not believe that he's dead. Sometimes, the stories just don't piece together. But then again, is the media.). If he were still alive to see all these, he would have been proud, very proud of himself.

10 MJ songs that come to my mind whenever his name is mentioned

1) Black or White
2) Billie Jean
3) Beat It
4) You Are Not Alone
5) Childhood
6) Heal the World
7) We Are The World
8) Smooth Criminal
9) Thriller
10) Bad

Michael Owen

Latest signing for Manchester United - Michael Owen on a free transfer from Newcastle.
Considering he is only 29, I would consider that as a good capture given that we lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Teves. Someone with a proven track record like Michael Owen would be great addition to the team. IF he stays injury free, I'm sure he can make his mark, hopefully he can do what Teddy Sherringham did a few years ago - provide experience and important assists and goals. At the end of the day, we shall see how he performs when the season starts.

Full On Weekend

After a tiring weekend, I'm forcing myself to type this entry while watching the Wimbledon Open Final between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick.
Denise's aunty and cousin are here this weekend from Brisbane. Brought them around for food and shopping. Good to have their company around and hope they had a wonderful time over here before flying back to Brisbane for Joy's start of semester.
Guocheng is here for her graduate studies as well. Arrived here on Sunday morning @ 5.50am. Apologies for picking GC up from the airport late. I hope he settles well into the new place we've found him and embark on his new experience in this part of the Aussie land.
Flat out already. Lucky that I got a day off tomorrow. But more work awaits.

Off Day

Off day never seems long enough. Regardless how early you wake up, there's never enough time to do what you want to do on a non-working day.
Manage to have lunch with Denise, do some housework, settle some financial stuffs, got some bulbs for Arthur Street and also blogging.
Btw, our traffic engineering department has officially become a separate business unit and part of the New South Wales division. What this means is, we have to work harder and smarter to keep the business unit profitable.
Anyway, still have not got the chance to watch Transformers yet. Eager to catch it especially after excellent reviews from friends and collegues. Hmm...
Joy (Denise's cousin) will be here tonight and Guo Cheng is arriving on Sunday. Hopefully, they will get settled in as soon as possible to battle it out in their respective university.
Cold and windy today. Its really chilling out there. Brrr....
