Life, Motivation, Determination, Challenge

Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired & dull, so we need a shark in our life to keep us awake and moving?

The more intelligent, persistent and competent you are, the more you enjoy a challenge

Instead of avoiding challenges, jump into them. Beat the heck out of them. Enjoy the game. If your challenges are too large or too numerous, do not give up. Failing makes you tired. Instead, reorganize. Find more determination, more knowledge, more help.

When something happens to you, good or bad, consider what it means. There's a purpose to life's events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.

No one can go back and make a brand new start. But anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Snowtrip Thredbo 2009

took me a while to get this entry going, tired and in pain after my 1st experience with snowboarding. Still recovering for my hurt ribs.
Overall it was a wonderful experience, tried my hands on snowboarding and I'm actually lucky enough to witness falling snow with Denise. I like that.
Snowboarding on the first day was all right, continuously falling down and picking myself up, aching almost everywhere from neck to shin. Blue-blacks everywhere. Getting off the chair-lift is tricky enough. Second day, we are just happy to take in the scenaries around us and was by the time too tired to go around for more snowboarding and to prevent more injuries.
Now, I do have the urge to go back and snowboard again. Not with the tour that we went to though. Just our luck for boarding the first available bus. 5 cartons of beer, 1 bottle of scotch and 1 bottle of vodka with numerous cans of mixers finished in 4 hrs. You can imagine how rowdy and freaking drunk those donkeys are. Not impressed.
Besides the bus trip, there was one incident which I thought I could do better. Sorry that you have to through this again. Actually this is one of the reason why I'm delaying this blog.
All in all, I think I'm 70% satisfied with this trip. Majority goes to the experience of snowboarding, visiting a new part of the world and witnessing snowfall with Denise. Not the bus trip. Not the place. Not the tour group.

Heavy, Tired

im back with the negative mood again.
every step I take seems like a wrong one. I can't please everyone, I can't even please myself.
after so many incidents from the past few days. it just gets worst.
I don't seem to be satisfied with what I've decided. Others are not satisfied with what I've done.
stop living for others. and start living for myself.
Critcism, Sacarsm, Complaints. They are all coming at me. I can't stop them from coming. I'll have to defend them. Easier said than done. That's why I'm in this state now.
I just feel so tired at the moment. Do I have to give in everytime? Do I get give in often?
Why do I always trust what others said? Never been able to convince someone. And i know i can do it.
Wrong, negative, shit is all im feeling now. The next step I'm going to take is going to be wrong. and the next and the next and the next. How I wish one day I can just let go of everything without any worries or hurt other people's feelings. That's how I am. Always being taken advantage of.
I can't manage yet I need to. I can't afford yet I want to. I want to say it, yet I can't.
I hate myself to be late, and hate people to be late. I hate waiting for people. I hate owing people money and people owing me. I hate being told what to do.

Disappointed

who can this boy blame but himself.
after all the confidence that was being built up over time, when is time to show it, he couldn't do it.

Not the first time, wont be the last time, and only happens when huge expectations are required. Disappointed in himself and disappoint others as well. No matter how much practice/training you had, only the best will survive on the field with opponents that will give you no chance at all. They will take every opportunity to make fun of you, to ridicule you, to challenge you even if you are from the same origin. Unfortunately, it only happens to this place of origin.

When it time to do it, the boy has to do it. Matters are worse when someone told you that it is too late.

Boy, time to have your opinion, time to think efficiently and effectively. Does it mean you getting out more often and toughen up? Nothing can be taught. Nothing. Experience doesn't count unless you show your experience gained. Something is hindering you, maybe is your way of thinking, maybe is your character, but something gotta changed in order not to let you feel shit.
Higher expectations, higher disappointments. I feel sorry for you for always, always not lifting up to expectations when it matters most.

How? the boy would ask. How to satisfy yourself and the people around you? How to handle the pressure that people are waiting for you? How do you handle the looks in their eyes? Is hard not to live w/o thinking of what people think of the boy? not as easy as what the book says.

The boy is disappointed, the boy is not thinking right and he is not speaking right as well? what should he do? He's back into his own shell. Doesn't like it. He's in a dilemma, should he get more shits before he will learn.

Speech, Reaction, Mentality > he can never get it right.

=(

happy monthsary

Happy 91st monthsary.

Thanks for going through thick and thin for 91 months, and many many many more months to go.

Really like the new shaver you got me. Something that I need to replace my old and "struggling to work" shaver.

Appreciate your efforts on me.
Love ya.

Community Shield 2009 Manchester United 2 Chelsea 2 (1-4 on penalties)

Disappointed at loss to Chelsea. Poor penalties taken by Giggs and especially Evra. Is one of those "my grandma can kick better than you" kind of penalty.
More interestingly, what I got out after watching the highlights of the match is the attitute of the Chelsea players.
Arrogance, selfish attitude is what I can see from the screen. Lampard's celebration after he scored the penalty, that was snobbish, absolutely unnecessary for this semi-friendly game. Drogba and Ballack both showed irritating attitudes as well. Normal I guess.
Maybe they are tired of losing all the time? Maybe they are tired of being hated as a team that is bought, not built? Whatever the case, I predict the Community Shield will be the only silverware they will have this season. Just didnt feel the cohesiveness of the team. Liverpool and Man Utd will remain as top challengers. But this year will be pretty interesting. Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal all had their teams weakened. Chelsea did not participate much in the transfer market, Man City bought big, Aston Villa, Everton all performed well in pre-season with a consistent team. It'll be interesting how they stack up this season.
Shall find out this weekend where the action all starts once again.

Meanwhile, njoy the highlights from the 2009 Community Shield.

Sunday 09 August 2009

a wonderful Sunday to wrap up the weekend.
went for Persian Cuisine for our brunch. Good experience, but food did not turn out as good as we thought it would be. Meat, loads of meat. Chicken and Lamb. Not forgetting the Natural Yoghurt Drink... *coughs*
Since we are up in the northern part of Sydney, we've decided to head to Mosman for a nice walk with breathtaking views. On the way there, we saw a banner "Mudgee Wine and Food Festival"
Something struck Denise's mind - Semilion Riesling from Mudgee, had a taste at Blue Mountains but could never find it in the shops and Semilion Riesling is not a common wine. So off we turn left towards Balmoral Beach, we saw a huge crowd, parking was difficult, every car was parked in every possible space. Wanted to give up but on the way out, we found one space. Thanks!
Lots of booths set up at the beachside and everyone is holding a glass. Nice souvenir glass from Mudgee for wine tasting - they can be purchased at $15 with 5 wine tasting tickets. 1 ticket gives you 40ml of the selected wine while 3 tickets give you a full glass. Experience.
Anyway, went to almost every booth but couldnt find the wine, starting to feel disappointed when Denise saw "Robert Stein" - looks very familiar, a look at the menu revealed Semillion Riesling. WooHoo. Got a bottle, satisfying. Besides that, it was nice stroll at the beach + good weather.
Eh? how did we get 4 glasses as shown in the picture? hmmmm...
anyway, good relaxing weekend. Like it. and thinking Mudgee as the next destination location.
have a good week ahead.

Chilax Saturday

City Day. Been quite some time since we last shopped in the city. Took the opportunity today as we went to the box office to collect Black Eyed Peas tickets.
It was a relaxing day for us, walking around the City, finding out more on Ski Trips, to the Apple Store and end up at Sydney Opera House and Botanical Gardens taking loads of photos from the famous landmark. A landmark we took it for granted as a Sydneysider.
The weather was pretty good during the day, but as usual, the temperature dropped as night falls. Time for dinner though. Bad choice of the day, we had pizza buffet. Even though the first taste was fantastic, satisfying my craving, I can feel pants getting tighter. Haha.
Chilax Saturday - chill and relax. We should be doing this more often.
~ njoy e photos.

2009 Cardno Annual Dinner

Cardno Annual Dinner - Twins Theme

Attended the annual dinner event at Inter-Continental Hotel with the themed "Twins". Denise and I went to the dinner dressed in Manchester United jerseys which turn up well in the end.
We were contemplating between traffic controllers and the jersey, glad we end up choosing being the Red Devils.
Even though the food was not up to expectations, we had lotsa of fun with my team of collegues, especially after a few drinks * winkz.
To made it even better, I was nominated for Best Professional Awards . I'm pretty surprised about my nomination as I'm up against staff who has 20 - 30 years experienced.
At the same time, thanks to Anissa (my boss) for recognising my efforts and work in this company.
Below is a collage of pictures taken and organised by Denise. Nice effort.
The RED colour did turned up well in the photos.
Btw, had a 1st experience.. ermm.. I threw up after a night of drinks. No thanks to the "good driving" of the bus and Denise, who triggered the button for me to "merlion"
It was a good feeling though after the throw-up and the experience was errrrr... not toooooo bad.
enjoy e photos...

Milk Difference

Difference between Full Cream Milk, Low-Fat Milk, Skim Milk (Question from Wilkie)

a) Full Cream Milk - defined in Food Standards Code has a minimum of 3.2g fat per 100mL

b) Low-Fat Milk - contains no more than 1.5g fat per 100mL

c) Skim Milk - Milk with almost all the fat removed

in my context (just for laughs), they are...

a) Full Cream Milk - Fatty milk, Fully Creamed, Delicious and Thick, From a Full Grown Cow. Yum Yum

b) Low Fat Milk - Less Fatty, Thin Milk, Substitute, from a Low Fat Cow. Still can managed.

c) Skim Milk - No Fatty, White Plain water, from a Calf or a Skim Cow. Huh?

as NRMA says. Why do things have to be to complicated???
